Your first tandem paragliding flight: what to expect
A step-by-step guide for first-time flyers in [LOCATION]: booking, the weather check, take-off, time in the air and landing.
Never flown before? Good — tandem paragliding is built for exactly that. You’ll be clipped in with a certified pilot who handles everything from take-off to landing, so all you need to bring is curiosity and the right shoes. Here’s how the day usually goes.
Booking your flight
Choose a date and a time slot, and tell us your weight and any health conditions. Morning flights tend to be calmer; afternoon flights can be longer when thermals build. We’ll confirm your slot and send a meeting point.
The weather check
On the morning of your flight, our pilots check wind speed and direction, cloud and thermal activity. If conditions aren’t safe, we’ll move your flight — it’s the most important decision of the day.
Briefing and take-off
At launch, your pilot fits your helmet and harness and explains the one thing you need to do: walk, then run, when they say so. Within a few steps the wing lifts you off the ground.
In the air
Once you’re seated in the harness, relax and enjoy the view. If you like, your pilot can let you hold the brakes and make a few turns — or keep it gentle if you’d rather just take photos.
Landing
As you approach the landing field, your pilot will ask you to lift your legs or stand up and run a few steps. Most landings are soft enough to stay on your feet.
